What is Awana?
Awana is a nondenominational ministry that assists churches in reaching children with the gospel of Jesus Christ and training them to serve Him. Awana stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. Awana is in more than 12,000 churches in over 110 countries on 6 continents. Awana is about fun with a purpose – to win and grow kids for Christ.

The Awana program at Arundel Baptist church meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. An Awana club meeting consists of 3 parts: games, achievement (book time), and a Bible story time. All our clubs are lead by trained adults. To support the church and the club program, we ask that each clubber contribute dues on a yearly or weekly basis. (See the price list for a breakdown of these as well as uniform and book costs.)

The first night of Awana, your child will bring home an entrance booklet, which is the first step in Awana achievement. We hope you will help your child complete this booklet in the next three weeks. When the booklet is finished, your child is eligible to wear an Awana uniform and earn awards for achievement. We want to work with you in providing balanced physical, social, mental, and spiritual activities for your child.

Awana also has a yearly game competition with other Awana clubs. This is called Awana games for T&T and Sparks-A-Rama for Sparks. There is no competition for Cubbies, however they can usually attend the above competitions free of charge if they wear their Cubbie Vest. These competitions are held in the first part of February and minimum qualifications must be met to participate. Please see your child's club leader for that information.

Cubbies:                               3 to 4 year olds (Must be 3 years old by December; must be potty-trained)
Sparks:                                  K through 2nd grade
T&T (Truth in Training):      3rd through 6th grade

Awana meets from September through May, on Wednesdays, from 6:30 – 8:00 pm
