Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
So the scribe said to Him, “Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one God, and there is no other but He. And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
Arundel women of all ages take opportunities for Bible study, fellowship, and service.
· Bible studies are scheduled to meet the needs of the women involved; some on weekday evenings, currently on Sunday evenings 6 to 7 pm.
· Joy Fellowship meets the first Tuesday of each month with a focus on organizing areas of service to Arundel Baptist. Women choose their preferred areas of service and work together to accomplish goals. Service includes organizing nursery care, providing food when needed, organizing décor of the church, and setting up for fellowships or baptismal services as a few examples. Joy Fellowship also supports a range of missions and community support. The meeting begins with prayer, a devotional, includes some refreshments and fellowship with the casually organized planning.
· Fellowship and mutual support are integral parts of the opportunities available to our women of varied generations, both planned as in regular meetings or annual retreats and more spontaneous summer coffees.
