Discipleship

We look at discipleship as a command for every believer in Christ.  Discipleship is simply the process of teaching others to be a follower of Jesus Christ.  Jesus said in Luke 14:33, "So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple."  To be a true disciple then means that we learn each day to live our life for our Creator rather than for ourselves.

This is the Biblical process of sanctification where God helps us to root out areas of sin in our life so that we can be more like Christ.  We aren't perfect in and of ourselves but we are perfected by Jesus and His sacrifice for ours sins and we are empowered to turn away from sin by the Holy Spirit that indwells every follower of Jesus.

At Arundel Baptist Church we have many Bible studies and small groups that help us to develop into faithful followers of Jesus Christ.  We also have Life Transformation Groups that are 3 men or 3 women meeting together for the purpose of holding each other accountable to walking in obedience to God and His Word.  We believe the process of discipleship is laid out very well in 2 Timothy 2:2, "and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also".  God desires for us to learn the truths of the Bible and take what we learn and share it with others.  The greatest need our community, country and world has right now is to see Christians living out their faith and not just talking about their faith.  We want to not only learn God's Word but let it transform us by applying it to our lives.  As Christians, our desire should be to bring God glory. When we allow Christ to be seen clearly in us, then we will see that we really make a difference in the lives of those around us.  It starts with each one of us.  We want to partner with you to help you be obedient to God.  Please contact us so we can help get you connected and begin that process.
